Sikkaa is a new social network type site launched from Kuwait and that targets amateur football (soccer) players and teams, helping them to promote themselves and organize matches and tournaments between them.
The word “Sikkaa” is an Arabic word that means “road”; which has been used in Kuwait for some time to describe the alleys and streets where children gather to play football, one of the most popular sports in Kuwait and around the region.
Sikkaa enables users to create their profiles as football players, upload photos and videos showing their skills at the game, create or join teams with their friends, challenge other teams, as well as participate in tournaments and events organized around them.
Just like Facebook, the site asks users to provide their real names and to provide accurate information, in an attempt to provide a quality service for everyone involved. There is also a restriction that a user can’t create nor join a team of the opposite sex, even though all member profiles and teams can be browsed.
Users can login with their Facebook or Twitter accounts, and can have the site automatically post their activity stream to the services, such as winning an award or joining a new team.
Sikkaa was founded and recently launched by Abdullah Alshemmeri from Kuwait. It’s available in both English and Arabic, and currently only covers Kuwait, but the plan is to grow and expand it to cover the region and the world.
The site being new, it might still feel a bit rough around the edges design wise, but the idea is a new one, for the region at least, and could be really interesting and helpful for many fans of the game around the Arab world who are involved in organizing and playing in these amateur football tournaments and who had to do it offline or through forums in the past.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERESTED PLAYERS:

their CV {curriculum vitae} which will be accessed by the officials; you will be notified
if chosen to start registration immediately.
(4.) Players must send a scanned copy of their passport photograph (4by6).
(5) Players must pay a registration fee of 750pounds but in some case where players don’t
have the full amount, we can help by accepting the half payment.
N.B:
The Air ticket, letter of invitation and Hotel accommodation (all inclusive) will be
provided by the club for every registered player and players are advised to send their
recent contact address so that their documents (Letter of invitation, Air ticket and Hotel
reservation) will get to them safely. Once we send you your documents, all you need to do
is to present our letter of invitation, flight ticket and hotel accommodation to the United
kingdom embassy in your country for a tourist visa.
The players that impress our coaches/scouts must sign a compulsory 3 years contract with
the Arsenal FC team, the dropped players will be compensated and they will return to their
home countries with their return tickets.
Please know that this is only a trial program, it is in no way an assurance of a place in
the team, and each player will be judged by his skills, techniques and ability with the
ball on the field of play by the coach and the entire technical department of the team. We
would not allow racial discrimination or any misconduct during the period of this program.
More importantly we won’t want people to abuse this gesture and use it as an opportunity to
come to UK for any other purpose other than the football trial program, please we need
