Dubai Internet City To Host Next DemoCamp Dubai On Nov. 24th

DemoCamp DubaiDubai Internet City just announced that it is preparing to host another edition of DemoCamp Dubai, the event enabling tech entrepreneurs, students, professionals and engineers to showcase and launch their new products in front of the tech community, and obtain valuable feedback from a like-minded audience comprising venture capitalists and angel investors.

This next edition of DemoCamp Dubai will be held on November 24th, from 6.30pm – 9.00pm, at Dubai Internet City; probably at the Knowledge Village Auditorium as usual. It is planned to include six demos from entrepreneurs.

Applicants will be screened by a panel of industry experts, including the organisers and business partners of DIC. Shortlisted applicants will be required to demonstrate their product and highlight its market opportunity, stage of corporate development, and identify the competitors. Demonstrations need to convey working software, hardware, network services and other features.

DemoCamp Dubai 5 – March 8th 2010 – DKV Auditorium

After over a year since its last edition, DemoCamp Dubai is back for its fifth edition, and hoping to be even bigger than its previous editions.

The Dubai-based launch event for new products, technologies and companies will be taking place at the Dubai Knowledge Village Auditorium on March 8th 2010 at 6:30PM.

As usual attendance is open for free for everyone, offering up an opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, consultants, students, and professionals to get together, see what the latest projects that have been cooking in the region are, meet and network.

Entrepreneurs and developers can join and demo a web application, a piece of software, a tool or anything that is innovative, new and can be demonstrated.

DemoCamp Cairo – June 14th 2009 – The Agenda

DemoCamp MEAs previously announced, the first DemoCamp Cairo will be taking place at the Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Center (Mycerinos Auditorium) on June 14th 2009 at 6PM.

The following six demos will be taking place at the event:

  • Exorcist: A puzzle game for the iPhone and iPod Touch by Vimov.
  • TVOSZ: An Egyptian video sharing service that was previously reviewed here.
  • Smatx: An online resource for IT people to find and share news and information.
  • Baralbait: A location based social networking service that enables people to check-in and pinpoint their locations to get to see nearby friends and places to go.
  • RFIDINREGION: A new site that is dedicated to RFID related technologies and news.
  • Carlog: A portal to buy and sell cars online.

The format will be the same as the previous events, with the presenters giving 10 minute presentations of their work, with 5 minutes for Q&A.

The presenters will also be available to answer any further questions, receive feedback and share some thoughts after the event.

Attendance is free, and everyone is welcome to join in. Attendees will also be getting free gift coupons from Logta.

DemoCamp Cairo, Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Center, June 14th 2009

DemoCamp METhe first DemoCamp Cairo; a launch event for new products, technologies and companies; will be taking place at the Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Center (Mycerinos Auditorium) on June 14th 2009 at 6PM.

A few interesting demos are already lined up for the event, but there are still openings for a couple more; So, if you’re going to be in Cairo around that date, and you are working on an interesting new web application that you would like to present, then just send an email to: info@democampme.org or leave a comment on the blog post announcing the event.

The ideas behind submitted startups have to be rather fresh ones, not things that are already overused, and priority is obviously given to newer startups.

The full list of startups that will be presenting at the event will be announced next week.

Attendance is free, and everyone is welcome to join in.

BarCamp Tunisie, Al Ghazela Technology Park, May 9th 2009

BarCamp TunisieTunisia will be soon be getting its first BarCamp event, that will be held at the Al Ghazela Technology Park (Hannibal Hall) on May 9th 2009 starting at 9:00 AM.

BarCamp is an ad-hoc gathering, born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. These events are quite intense with discussions, demos, and interaction from attendees.

A number of Tunisian entrepreneurs will be at the event talking about their startups and demoing their products and services, then opening a discussion about them with the attendees.

The startups that are confirmed to be demoing at the first Tunisian BarCamp so far are the following:

  • Wezign: A Tunisian web & graphic design agency. (Demo by: Kais Ben Sedrine)

DemoCamp Saudi – King Saud University, Riyadh – (March 11th)

The first DemoCamp Saudi; a launch event in Saudi Arabia for new products, technologies and companies; will be taking place at King Saud University in Riyadh on March 11th in hall #26.

The following seven demos will be taking place at the event:

  • 3zeema: An Arab social event organization and invitation service, that was previously reviewed here.
  • Fwateer: An online service that enables businesses selling online to bill their clients directly through their bank accounts.
  • Moshtry: A service that provides tips and advice on what products to buy and use, allowing users to share their own experiences as well.
  • Kammelna: An online Baloot group card game site.
  • Books Exchange: An online book exchange service.
  • Qaym: An online service for user generated restaurant reviews, previously reviewed here.
  • Dorat: An online central resource for all training opportunities provided by companies.

The format will be the same as other DemoCamp events in the region, with the presenters giving a 10 minute presentation of their work, with another 5 minutes for Q&A.

The presenters will also be available to answer any further questions, receive feedback and share some thoughts after the event.

DemoCamp Dubai 4 – January 28th 2009 – The Agenda

DemoCamp DubaiAs previously announced, the fourth DemoCamp Dubai will be taking place at the Radisson SAS in Dubai Media City on January 28th at 7:30PM.

The following four demos will be taking place at the event:

  • restate.ae iPhone application: restate.ae is a real estate portal for the city of Dubai, built by the guys at SpinBits. A new iPhone application was created to make it easier to find properties on the go, get more information about neighborhoods and have access to news.
     
  • StartUpArabia Database: StartUpArabia will be officially launching StartUpArabia Database, which is a free wiki-based directory of Arab technology startups, entrepreneurs and financial organizations that anyone can edit and enrich.
     
  • eMapia: An online location based marketplace. Using eMapia, people can browse through countries, cities and neighbourhoods on a map to find businesses/people who added items for sale nearby. 
     
  • w2task: is a web 2.0 task & time management web based software, where users can register online, create their own business (company) and projects, than attach efforts to them. In return the users will be able to track their own/team efforts and time spent on a particular project (time sheets) and invoice their customers (planned feature).

The format will be the same as the previous events, with the presenters giving 10 minute presentations of their work, with 5 minutes for Q&A.

The presenters will also be available to answer any further questions, receive feedback and share some thoughts after the event.

DemoCamp Dubai 4 – Radisson SAS, Dubai Media City (Jan. 28th)

This will be the first DemoCamp of 2009, and it is set to be held at the same venue and in the same room as the last time, the Al Nada Ballroom, 2nd floor in Radisson SAS hotel, Dubai Media City. Attendance is free, and everyone is welcome to join in.

  • Jawaker is a multi-player online gaming site that is dedicated to card games from the Arab world. 
  • Twffaha is a job portal for women, aiming to promote recruiting women in the region. (Previously reviewed here)
  • Untiny is a new service that given a shortened URL, expands it to retrieve the original web address behind it. (Previously reviewed here)
  • Industrials Directory is an industrial search engine and locator that provides one source for finding the exact product, service, or supplier and locate them.

The format will be the same as the first two events, with the presenters giving 10 minute presentations of their work, with 5 minutes for Q&A.
