This coming May will witness another addition to the startup event scene in the region, specifically in Amman, Jordan, with the holding of the first DemoCamp Amman event.
DemoCamp Amman will be held on May 10th 2011 at Zara Expo from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
As with other DemoCamp events around the region and the world, the goal of the event is to enable tech entrepreneurs, students, professionals and engineers to showcase and launch their new products in front of the tech community.
The event is open to startups and budding entrepreneurs both from Jordan and the region as a whole.
Demo submissions need to be submitted by April 14th 2011 to be considered for this first event; The demo submission form can be found here.
A committee will select 5 to 6 demos to get 15 minutes each to demo their products at the events and reach out to their peers, other companies and top investors from the region.
As with other such events, working demos are preferred, though in some cases products in the idea stage could be selected.
This first edition of DemoCamp Amman is being organized by Jordanian company O-Minds in partnership with the Jordan Open Source Association (JOSA) and Amman Tech Tuesdays (AmmanTT). O-Minds aren’t new to the concept of DemoCamp as they also presented at the Dubai version of the event last year.
Attendance is open for free for everyone, offering up an opportunity for entrepreneurs, investors, consultants, students, and professionals to get together, see what the latest projects that have been cooking in the region are, meet and network.
Startups and web applications presented at DemoCamp Amman will also be reviewed here on StartUpArabia.
