The Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Competition (QRNEC) is officially launching its 4th cycle for 2010 – 2011.
This comes as part of the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship’s continued effort to empower Jordanian entrepreneurs to take their ideas or startups to the next level.
The vision of QRNEC is to evolve and expand into a comprehensive entrepreneurship enabler, involved in fostering creativity, incubating viable concepts, and facilitating the success of entrepreneurial ventures to a level that affects the cultural orientation of the Jordanian community.
Entrepreneurs and startups that participate in the event can benefit from the following:
- Over $50,000 of cash awards and investments
- Participation in QRCE leading Technology Entrepreneurship Development Bootcamp & Advanced Mentoring Program
- National and Regional Recognition for winners
- Priority and Support to participating projects through QRCE other programs
- Priority to get incubated at leading Jordan Technology Incubator (iPark) for eligible companies
- Linkages with leading investors
The competition has 3 different categories this year:
- Universities Track: Majority of the applying team should be from Universities (Students, Staff & Faculty Members).
- Pre-Startup Track: For projects still in the concept level, without a Business Plan or a commercial team.
- Startup Track: This is for companies that are already established, with a basic business plan and a number of employees of less than 12.
The program accepts ideas and startups from different sectors and disciplines, covering areas from ICT to Semiconductors, to nanotechnology, to energy and environmental technologies, to security and defense and more.
