A new poll has gone live on StartUpArabia, you can find it on the first sidebar on the right or vote straight from this post.
This poll addresses the question of trust, and it asks:
Is trust an issue for you when it comes to Arab startups?
Is is an issue for you? Do you think trust is a bigger issue when it comes to Arab startups? Do you as a user need a bit more assurance from Arab startups for them to earn your trust?
What do you think?
Feel free to further expand on your response in the comments section of this post.
I am not sure what this question even means. Are you trying to ask if Arab startups are perceived as not trustworthy? Perception is something you can alter and manipulate via clever marketing an PR. So, I don’t see any relevance here. People in general will not have as much faith in a startup vs. a well-established company offering the same services. It just means you have to work harder. Trust is built through time. You don’t just start and establish trust!

Well, the issue of trust is one that is a general one I guess to all startups, but from the people I’ve met, I have a sense that it’s even more so when it comes to Arab startups, where they have to actually work a little harder to earn people’s trust.
Of course, this can be altered through marketing, PR, a great product, good support …etc; the idea of the poll is to actually identify if it is as big an issue as I feel it is for people.
